A 70-year-old man has died following a helicopter crash in Bentley, Doncaster, on Thursday 30 October.
Crash Details and Response
The incident occurred at 10.14am on Ings Road, where the helicopter reportedly went down in a field. Emergency services rushed to the scene for a swift multi-agency response.
Despite efforts by medical staff, the elderly man was pronounced dead at the site. His family has been informed and is receiving support from police officers.
Others Injured
- The pilot, a 41-year-old man, sustained minor injuries.
- Two passengers—a 58-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy—also suffered minor wounds.
Ongoing Investigation
South Yorkshire Police and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) have launched a joint investigation into the crash.
“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died in this tragic incident,” said Detective Inspector Matt Bolger, Senior Investigating Officer.
“We remain at the scene working closely with emergency services and the AAIB. We urge anyone who witnessed the crash or has footage of the helicopter before the incident to contact us immediately.”
