Two men have been arrested following a terrifying series of burglaries in Swindon and england/Highworthhighworth/”>Highworth on September 24. The raids included a knife-wielding intruder and left locals shaken.

Knife Threat in Upper Stratton Break-In

The first raid hit Evergreens Close, stratton/”>stratton/”>Upper Stratton, around 2:30pm. An armed burglar forced their Wayway inside but left empty-handed. Thankfully, no one was hurt – but the victim was left visibly shaken by the ordeal.

Homes Ransacked; Jewellery Stolen in Highworth

  • Windrush Property: The second break-in occurred between 7:15am and afternoon. The home was trashed, though it’s unclear if anything was taken.
  • Stormer Way: The third burglary struck between 2pm and 5pm. Jewellery was reported stolen.

Police Dogs Conan and Bane Sniff Out Suspects

Police sprang into action after spotting a suspicious vehicle near Gablecross Police Station. The two men, both in their 20s, tried to escape but were caught thanks to police dogs Conan and Bane. They’re now in custody, facing charges of burglary and failing to stop for police.

PC Kyra Freeland said: “Burglary is a devastating ordeal for victims and can leave them feeling unsafe in their own homes. This is totally unacceptable and we will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.”

She added: “We’ve made two arrests but enquiries continue. Anyone with doorbell or dash cam footage, or who saw anything suspicious in these areas, should get in touch immediately.”
