“This is a truly tragic incident, and our thoughts remain with the families of Sarah Keeling and Mark Ratcliffe,” said Chief Inspector Tom Stevens. “Both families continue to be supported by specially trained officers and have requested their privacy at this devastating time.”
Search Blitz: Drones, Divers and Ocean Experts Join the Chase
Police are pulling out all the stops. Shoreline patrols stretch from Withernsea to Easington. Drones buzz overhead, while an underwater search team combs the sea. An oceanographer has been brought in to ensure the search is as effective as possible.
Chief Inspector Stevens warned: “Members of the public should anticipate a continued police presence throughout the week. We urge everyone to avoid the area to allow emergency services to work safely and without interruption.”
