An anonymous eyewitness recounted the horrific events, describing how the vehicle, carrying the pregnant woman, was struck, causing it to roll three times across the pavement before coming to a halt. Emergency responders arrived swiftly, with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) working urgently to assist the victim. In a desperate attempt to save the unborn child, emergency personnel performed an emergency Caesarean section on the roadside.

Despite their rapid and heroic efforts, both the 38-year-old woman and her unborn baby were pronounced dead at the scene due to the severe injuries they sustained in the crash. Authorities have informed the woman’s next of kin, who are now being supported by specially trained officers.

The incident, which involved an unmarked police car, occurred near the junction of the A20 and Kidbrooke Park Road, SE9. The two police officers who were in the vehicle at the time of the crash were also taken to the hospital for treatment but have since been discharged.
