Construction has officially started on a massive new industrial and logistics hub at Immingham, marking one of the biggest local developments this year.
Helm @ Immingham: Phase One Underway
Associated British Ports (ABP) has broken ground on the first phase of its Helm @ Immingham scheme. The project sits on a sprawling 227-acre site near the A180, nestled between Grimsby and Immingham’s port complex.
The initial phase will deliver over 100,000 sq ft of industrial and logistics space. North East Lincolnshire Council has already given the green light for the development.
Eight New Units Built for All Business Sizes
ABP plans to create eight brand new units, ranging from small starter spaces to large industrial buildings. These are designed to suit a wide mix of businesses, from engineering and manufacturing to energy, logistics, and port-related services.
“We’re set to offer versatile options to boost local industry and support the port’s growth,” an ABP spokesperson said.
Vision for Massive Commercial Hub and Green Enhancements
When finished, Helm @ Immingham could boast over 1.1 million sq ft of commercial property, plus 90 acres of open storage ideal for automotive and logistics firms.
The project also features renewable energy solutions and plans to improve biodiversity, fitting into ABP’s broader sustainability aims.
ABP has enlisted agents JLL, Gent Visick, and PPH to market the speculative units, expanding its property portfolio in the process.
Land Set for Industrial Use, Ready for Takeoff
- The site has been earmarked for employment use for more than 10 years.
- It already benefits from approvals for access roads and industrial activity.
- Previously, the land was used for farming.
This initiative signals a major boost for local jobs and business opportunities, putting Immingham firmly on the industrial map for years to come.
