The incident began when a suspect vehicle, reportedly a stolen white car, failed to stop for officers, prompting a pursuit. The chase escalated as the suspect attempted to flee by driving the wrong way down the A406, ultimately colliding head-on with an Audi and causing significant damage. The dramatic crash brought traffic to a standstill and sparked an emergency response involving police, paramedics, and the London Fire Brigade.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as “carnage,” with debris scattered across the roadway and emergency services working tirelessly to secure the area and provide aid. The two officers involved were assessed by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and transported to a local hospital. Their injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening, and they are currently recovering. Individuals involved in the collision, including those in the suspect vehicle and the Audi, were also taken to the hospital, with their conditions awaiting updates.

The incident has led to significant disruption, with the A406 blocked in both directions and motorists facing severe delays. Commuters are advised to avoid the area as collision investigators continue their work to determine the exact circumstances of the chase and collision.

Authorities have not confirmed whether arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The Metropolitan Police have stated that an inquiry into the pursuit and the events leading up to the crash is ongoing. Further updates will be released as more information becomes available.

Drivers and witnesses who may have dashcam footage or relevant information are urged to contact the authorities to assist with the investigation.
