Police Release Image After Delivery Driver Seriously Injured in Oxford GBH Assault

Thames Valley Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a serious assault that left a delivery driver with a broken hip in Oxford city centre.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:30pm on Monday, 17 March 2025, on Cornmarket %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%%. According to police, a man approached the delivery worker and pulled him off his bicycle by his fast %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%% delivery bag, causing him to fall heavily to the ground.

The victim sustained a serious hip injury, described as a break, which has left him unable to %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%%. The injury has had a significant financial impact on the victim and his family, %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%% said.

Investigating officer PC Edward Lee, based at %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_4%% Police Station, described the incident as a "GBH-level assault."

"This was a GBH-level assault where a man has sustained a serious and debilitating injury to his hip which has meant he is unable to work and his family impacted financially," said PC %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_5%%.

"We are now releasing an image of a man who we believe may have vital information that could help with this %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_6%%. If this person is you, or you know who he is, please contact %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_7%% Police."

Anyone with information is urged to contact the force either via the %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_8%% or by calling 101, quoting reference 43250130721.

Police are also asking any witnesses to the incident, which took place in one of Oxford's busiest %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_10%% streets, to come forward.
