Emergency services rushed to Eastbourne town centre on Saturday morning, following reports of a knife attack on Terminus Road at around 7.30am.
A 30-year-old %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%% was found with serious but not life-threatening injuries. He received treatment at the scene from %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%% before being taken to hospital for further medical care.
Initially, %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%% Police arrested a 20-year-old man and a 27-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH). However, after further %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%%, both individuals were released with no further action and are now being treated as witnesses rather than suspects.
A %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_4%% spokesperson said:
"There will be %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_5%% patrols in the area while police continue their enquiries and to provide reassurance to the public. Further CCTV and witness enquiries are %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_6%% the circumstances."
Police are appealing for %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_7%% CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
