South London rapper Fekky, hailing from Deptford, has made this Christmas exceptionally festive for many residents by distributing 4,000 turkeys. The 37-year-old artist, known for his contributions to the music industry, took to Deptford High Street two days ago (Friday, December 22) to share an abundance of holiday birds.
The heartwarming initiative carried out in partnership with Fekky’s charity, the C&C Foundation (named after his sons Capree and Cuben), aimed primarily to support young people in need.
Video footage shared on Instagram captured the artist and his team distributing turkeys from the back of a van, accompanied by the cheerful tune of “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town.
Fekky, who now resides on his Kent farm, shared his feelings of joy in helping his community, emphasizing his humble beginnings. He expressed, “It felt really good, especially the fact I gave back to those in the community I came from.”
Growing up in a close-knit community, Fekky remembered the sense of unity and support, saying, “Growing up there was always this feeling of being able to go next door and borrow things, and it would make all of us come together. And for me to be able to get brands to donate to my charity is a beautiful feeling, it brings back that old-school feeling of coming together.”
This year, Fekky noted that the recipients of his turkey giveaway were particularly emotional, with some deeply touched by the gesture. He recounted the story of a woman who had initially planned to have chicken instead of traditional turkey due to financial constraints. However, after receiving a turkey, she could now look forward to a more festive Christmas meal.
Fekky expressed his satisfaction in making a difference, stating, “It felt amazing [to be able to make a difference]. Just to see the smiles on people’s faces. Some people think it’s too good to be true and ask ‘what’s the catch,’ and there isn’t one.”
As the festive season unites people and families, Fekky shared his love for this special time, describing it as “the one birthday we all share.” He emphasized the importance of celebrating and coming together as a respite from the challenges faced throughout the year.
Fekky extended a heartfelt message to those who might be struggling during this holiday season, encouraging them not to hesitate to seek help. He mentioned the C&C Foundation’s commitment to assisting individuals in need, including organizing Christmas Day dinners. Fekky urged anyone facing difficulties to reach out to the foundation for support.
Looking ahead, Fekky expressed his desire to expand his charitable efforts in the coming year. The C&C Foundation remains open to donations and suggestions on how best to help people in need. Fekky encourages anyone who believes they can contribute to get in touch, as together, they can make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
This heartwarming act of generosity by Fekky exemplifies the true spirit of Christmas, bringing joy and hope to his community during the holiday seas
