Gardaí from Dun Laoghaire have carried out a significant drug seizure during an early morning search operation as part of ongoing efforts to tackle the sale and supply of illegal substances.

The operation took place in the Monkstown Farm area, where officers discovered and seized cocaine with an estimated street value of €110,000. In addition, cannabis worth around €260 was recovered, along with various items of drug paraphernalia.

Forensic Analysis

The seized drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for comprehensive analysis to confirm their contents and quantities.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed:

“The operation was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug distribution in the area. The drugs seized will undergo further analysis, and investigations are continuing.

Authorities have not disclosed whether any arrests were made during the search, and the investigation is ongoing. Gardaí are continuing their inquiries to establish the source and intended distribution network of the seized substances.

Residents in the Monkstown Farm area have expressed relief that law enforcement is actively working to curb drug activity in their community. One local resident commented:

“It’s good to know that Gardaí are taking action. Drugs have been a problem here for some time, and it’s reassuring to see something being done about it.”
