A 37-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after being shot in Crossway, Hackney late on Friday night, prompting a major police investigation.
The Metropolitan Police were called at 22:53hrs on Friday, June 20, to reports of gunfire in the east London street. Firearms officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service attended the scene and located a man suffering from gunshot injuries.
Man in Life-Threatening Condition

Investigation Underway
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation. Local officers have increased patrols in the immediate area to reassure the community.
The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, and police are urging witnesses or anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or relevant information to come forward.
“If you saw anything suspicious in or around Crossway at the time of the incident, or if you have footage that may help our investigation, we urge you to speak with us,” a Met Police spokesperson said.
