Police have been given extra time to question two men arrested on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm following an incident in Norwich yesterday (Saturday 19 March 2022). The men, one aged in his late teens and the other aged in his 20s, were arrested yesterday afternoon (Saturday 19 March). They remain in custody at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre where detectives continue to question them today (Sunday 20 March 2022). It follows an incident in St Vedast Street shortly before 2.30am yesterday (Saturday 19 March) when officers were called to reports that a man had been assaulted. Emergency services attended the scene and the victim, a man aged in his 20s, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment. He was later transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital where he remains with life threatening injuries. A police cordon put in place at the location was removed shortly before 3.40pm yesterday. Enquiries are ongoing. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly keen to speak to anybody who was in the St Vedast Street area of Norwich between 2.10am and 2.30am yesterday (Saturday 19 March 2022).
