A number of local cases involving Chadwell Heath and Romford residents have come before the courts this week, with offenders sentenced for crimes including drink driving, fuel theft and breaches of sexual harm orders.
Chadwell Heath drink driver banned
Manjit Singh, 38, of High Road, Chadwell Heath, admitted drink driving a Ford Ranger in Chadwell Avenue on April 13.
He gave a reading of 83 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath, more than double the legal limit of 35 micrograms.
Singh was disqualified from driving for 20 months and fined £600. His ban may be reduced if he completes a drink-driving awareness course, which is an opportunity for Chadwell Heath and Romford residents to learn from his mistake.
Sex offender messaged teenage girl
Suresh Bhudia, 39, of Simpson Road, Rainham, admitted two breaches of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
The breaches related to him messaging a 16-year-old girl and using an app he was banned from.
Bhudia will be sentenced at a later date. His case is a reminder of the importance of safeguarding for both Chadwell Heath and Romford residents.
Boy, 15, stole petrol from garage
A 15-year-old boy from Romford admitted making off without payment after stealing fuel.
On August 22 he filled a jerry can with petrol at a Shell garage in Woodford before leaving without paying.
He will be sentenced at a later date, highlighting once again the challenges faced by Chadwell Heath and Romford residents.

Sharne Johnson, 31, of Amberley Way, Romford, admitted assaulting a woman and possessing cannabis on July 26.
Johnson has been remanded on unconditional bail until sentencing, a case that involves Romford and Chadwell Heath residents observing the justice process.
