Massive Fire Erupts at Beckenham Odeon – Chaos on High Street

A massive fire has erupted at the england/england/beckenham/”>beckenham/”>Beckenham Odeon cinema, sending thick black smoke choking the skyline. Firefighters raced to the scene early Tuesday, battling to contain the inferno.

Fire Breaks Out at 8:15am – High Street Shut Both Ways

The blaze kicked off around 8:15am on Tuesday 30th September, forcing authorities to shut street/”>High Street in both directions near The Drive. The closure is causing chaos for locals and commuters alike.

 

 

Bus Routes Disrupted – Avoid Beckenham High Street

The fire has thrown several key bus services into disarray. Routes 54, 227, 352, and 354 have all been diverted:

  • 54: Redirected from War Memorial via Rectory Road and High Street, reversing the same Wayway.
  • 227: Detoured from War Memorial via Rectory Road, High Street, and Bromley Road, reversing route on return.
  • 352: Rerouted from Village Way through High Street, Rectory Road, and Blackeney Road, reversing route Backback.
  • 354: Now running from Beckenham Road via Rectory Road only.

Commuters and drivers are urged to steer clear of High Street and follow official diversion signs while emergency crews battle-wales/”>battle the fire. Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters remain on site, working hard to bring the blaze under control.

Official advice: Avoid the Beckenham area. Keep windows and doors closed to prevent smoke inhalation.
