A probation officer from Forest Hill is in the dock accused of an “inappropriate” romance with a prisoner she was meant to supervise.
Bethany Dent-Reynolds Charged With Misconduct
Bethany Dent-Reynolds, 27, of Sunderland Road, faces two counts of misconduct in public office. She is also charged with unauthorised access to computer data.
The allegations relate to a relationship she had between March 1 and April 20 last year with Keiran Robinson, a serving prisoner under her probation watch.
Abuse of Public Trust and Computer Misuse
- First charge: Wilfully abusing public trust by engaging in a romantic relationship with prisoner Keiran Robinson while acting as a probation officer in Thamesmead, Borough of Greenwich.
- Second charge: Misconduct by maintaining the inappropriate relationship and causing a prison computer system, Ndelius Record, to allow unauthorised access to data.
- Third charge: Breach of the Computer Misuse Act 1990 for causing a computer to function unlawfully to access restricted data.
Case Heads to Woolwich Crown Court
Dent-Reynolds confirmed her personal details at a preliminary hearing before the case was committed to Woolwich Crown Court for trial.
