Dorset Police are urging witnesses and individuals with relevant dash-cam footage to come forward following a serious road traffic collision in Poole. The incident, reported at 09:13 GMT on Saturday, January 6, 2024, occurred on Blandford Road North near Douglas Close and involved a blue Ford Focus and a pedestrian.

Emergency services swiftly responded, and the pedestrian, identified as a woman in her 90s, was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be very serious. Her family has been notified of the incident.

Sergeant Richard Stroud, leading the Roads Policing Team, emphasised the ongoing efforts to understand the full circumstances of the collision. He urged witnesses or anyone with information about the incident, as well as details regarding the vehicle’s driving manner before the collision, to come forward.

Sergeant Stroud also requested individuals who were driving in the area around the time of the collision to review their dashcam footage for any relevant information. Expressing gratitude for the public’s patience during the incident, he highlighted the importance of collective efforts in piecing together the details surrounding the incident.
