Several cases were brought before Bromley and Bexley Magistrates’ Courts on Wednesday, with defendants facing a range of charges, from assault to theft and robbery.
WAYNE BROWN, 37, of Allwood Close in Sydenham, admitted to assaulting a man and causing actual bodily harm, as well as threatening him with a meat cleaver during an incident on August 19. Brown received a 24-week prison sentence, which was suspended for one year. As part of his sentence, he is required to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and undertake 25 days of rehabilitation activities.
KIRSTI SIMPSON, 29, of Exeter Way in Deptford, admitted to multiple thefts from various stores, including Boots, The Co-op, and Waterstones, earlier this year. Simpson has been remanded in custody until her sentencing date.
A 17-YEAR-OLD, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted to robbing a wallet, bank details, and a phone from an individual in Clapham. The youth was issued a youth rehabilitation order and has been banned from entering the Clapham Common and Wandsworth Common areas as part of the order.
The courts have taken a varied approach to sentencing, aiming to balance rehabilitation and punishment for those involved in these incidents.
