Two people were rescued from the harbour this evening after their boat, Old Buoy 2, began taking on water. The dramatic rescue unfolded as emergency services, including the Coastguard, responded swiftly to the distress call.
A man aboard Old Buoy 2 was rescued by a Coastguard member who swam out to the boat to provide assistance. Meanwhile, another individual, who was frantically bailing water from a sinking tender, was pulled to safety by other Coastguard personnel.

Thanks to the rapid response of the Coastguard, both individuals were brought to shore safely, and no injuries have been reported. The exact cause of the boat’s water intake is still under investigation.

Local authorities praised the Coastguard’s swift and decisive actions, which were instrumental in preventing a potentially life-threatening situation from escalating further.
