Emergency services were called to the Chase Leisure Centre on Stafford Road, Cannock, this afternoon following reports of a gas leak.
The incident, reported at 2:36pm, prompted a swift response from fire crews.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the nature of the emergency as a suspected gas leak, though there are currently no reports of injuries.
The site was evacuated as a precaution while crews investigated the source of the leak. The area around the leisure centre was temporarily cordoned off, and staff worked with emergency responders to ensure the safety of all visitors and employees.
