Emergency services are responding after a lorry crashed through the barrier of the M90 flyover near Perth early this morning, landing upside down on the A912 road below.

The incident occurred around 7.30am at the Craigend Interchange, resulting in the closure of both the M90 slip road and the A912 in both directions.

Eyewitness Lucy Scarlett reported a significant gap in the flyover’s barrier, with the overturned HGV clearly visible on the road beneath. Multiple police units, paramedics, and recovery teams from Amey are currently at the scene.

A collision investigation has been launched, and police have confirmed that the road will be closed for a considerable time.

While traffic on the main M90 motorway remains flowing, motorists are being urged to avoid the Craigend Interchange area and expect long delays.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they deployed three fire engines and a heavy rescue unit to the crash site.

A statement from Police Scotland said:

The M90 slip road heading southbound from Broxden is closed at Craigend, and the A912 is closed in both directions following a report of a road crash at 7.30am. Emergency services are at the scene.

Public transport has been severely impacted:

  • Stagecoach’s 65 service is unable to serve Bridge of Earn.
  • Glenfarg Community Transport’s 55 service will terminate early at Glenfarg.
  • Perth High School has warned parents of delays to school buses and English GCSE exams scheduled for today.

There are no confirmed details regarding injuries at this time. Further updates will follow as information becomes available.
