Yusuf Nur, 47, from Cardiff, has pleaded guilty to two offences and was sentenced today at Cardiff Crown Court. The charges relate to an incident on August 17, 2025.
Early Morning Attack Stopped by Quick-Thinking Victim
At around 5:20am, a 19-year-old woman flagged down police officers patrolling Kingsway in Cardiff city centre. She reported being raped moments earlier. Officers acted fast to locate Nur, who was arrested and charged on the spot.
Evidence Forces Change of Plea
Although Nur initially denied any contact with the victim, police detectives uncovered strong evidence. Forensic analysis and CCTV footage reviewed thoroughly led to Nur switching his plea to guilty. The swift police investigation brought justice to the victim.
