A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed multiple times at an office in Parkway, Whiteley.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 9:15am on Wednesday, April 30 following reports of a serious stabbing incident. A woman in her 40s was found with stab wounds to her abdomen, chest, back, and arm.

She was rushed to hospital where she remains in a stable condition, police confirmed today.

Suspect Charged

Anwar Ashraf, 37, of no fixed abode but previously residing in Southsea, has now been charged with attempted murder in connection with the attack.

Ashraf has been remanded in custody and will appear before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Thursday, 2 May.

Investigation Ongoing

Police have not disclosed the motive for the attack, but confirmed that enquiries are ongoing. Officers have stepped up patrols in the Whiteley area to reassure the community following the incident at the Solent Centre.
