A 14-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in broad daylight in Walthamstow, East London, on Thursday, May 15.

The incident occurred just before 5pm near The Duke pub on Wood Street (E17). Emergency services, including London’s Air Ambulance, were deployed to the scene where the teenager was treated for multiple stab wounds.

He was then rushed to hospital, and police say they are awaiting an update on his condition.

Teen Arrested, Another Suspect Sought

A 14-year-old boy from Waltham Forest has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that enquiries are ongoing to trace a second suspect involved in the stabbing.

A police spokesperson said:

On Thursday, 15 May, police were called at 16:56hrs to Wood Street, E17, following reports of a stabbing. Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. A 14-year-old boy was treated for multiple injuries and taken to hospital. We await an update on his condition.

Local MP Urges Caution Over Speculation

Stella Creasy, MP for Walthamstow, described the incident as “serious” and urged the public not to speculate out of respect for the victim’s family.

“As soon as I have further confirmed details of this incident I will share this with residents to ensure you have accurate information... I know this will cause deep distress to our community.”

Police are urging any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
