Bronze Masterpieces Snatched in Dead of Night

england/south-west/england/south-west/wiltshire/”>wiltshire/”>Wiltshire Police are urgently searching for three priceless bronze statues stolen from Iford Manor near Bradford on Avon in a daring midnight raid on June 19-20.

The stolen treasures include:

  • She-Wolf with Romulus and Remus – still missing along with its bronze base
  • Pair of symmetrical fawns – replicas of the famous Villa Dei Papyri sculptures
  • Bust of Antinous

Detectives have been scouring for clues since the burglary, but the valuable artworks remain lost.

 

Two Bristol Men Arrested, But Statues Still At Large

In late June, cops arrested two men, aged 31 and 39, from bristol-england/”>bristol/”>Bristol. Both are currently on bail while investigations continue, yet the stolen bronzes remain nowhere to be found.

 

 

Police Urge Public to Come Forward

“This investigation remains a priority for our team, and we’re desperate to hear from anyone who has seen these items,” said DC Jo Chesshire from the Burglary team.

“We believe the statues are still intact – likely hidden somewhere in the UK or possibly moved abroad.”
