A 34-year-old man has been arrested outside Parliament following reports of a person carrying knives near the iconic building around 2 pm today.
The Metropolitan Police responded swiftly to the scene, where officers detained the suspect without any reported injuries.

Authorities have confirmed that no members of the public or officers were harmed during the incident, and the situation was brought under control promptly.

A police spokesperson stated, “Police were called at 14:01hrs on Tuesday, 12 November to reports of a man in possession of knives outside Parliament, SW1.
Officers attended and a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He will be taken to a police station.
No injuries have been reported.
