A man has been charged after allegedly firing an air weapon at a police car in Maidstone.
The incident occurred shortly after 7am on Tuesday, 24 September 2024, when officers were called to Knightrider Street following reports of a man brandishing an object resembling a handgun. When the first police patrol arrived, it is alleged that a projectile was fired at their vehicle.
Alexander Sangster, 41, of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene, and an air weapon was seized nearby. Sangster has been charged with possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.
He has been bailed and is scheduled to appear before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 10 October.
