Bromley and Bexley Magistrates’ Courts handed down several sentences on Monday, addressing cases of assault, harassment, and illegal possession of a weapon among local residents.

Assault and Stalking Xane Huggins, 22, from Elfrida Crescent in Bellingham, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman and engaging in stalking behaviors such as texting and calling her repeatedly in June this year. The court imposed an 18-month community order on Huggins, which includes electronic monitoring and 80 hours of unpaid work. Additionally, a restraining order was issued to protect the victim.

Harassment and Offensive Communications Kyle Cribben, 31, of Lawrie Park Road in Sydenham, was sentenced after admitting to harassing a woman and sending her grossly offensive messages. Cribben received a one-year community order and was also subjected to a restraining order to prevent further contact with the victim.

Weapon Possession and Traffic Violation Emmanuel Adeyemi, 20, residing on Eltham Road in Bromley, faced the court for possessing a locking knife in a public place and driving without insurance in Petts Wood on February 17. Adeyemi was handed a one-year community order with electronic monitoring, fined £120, and incurred six penalty points on his driving licence.

Physical Assault Jamie Mann, 38, from Attlee Road in Thamesmead, admitted to assaulting a man in September 2023. Mann was sentenced to a one-year community order which includes completing 120 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £100 in compensation to the victim.

These cases reflect the local judiciary’s ongoing efforts to address and curb criminal activities within the Bromley and Bexley areas, emphasizing community-based penalties and protective orders to prevent future offences.
