Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to reports of a shed fire in Blean, Canterbury, on Monday evening (November 18, 2024).

The call came in at 5:18pm, and two fire engines were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters used high-pressure hose reel jets to extinguish the flames, bringing the fire under control by 6:17pm.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. An investigation determined that the fire was accidental, caused by hot embers that had been discarded in a bin located inside the shed.

The fire service has reminded residents to ensure that embers or ashes are fully extinguished before disposal to prevent similar incidents.
