A man has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a car and a van at the junction of the A13 and A1306 in Dagenham this morning (Wednesday, August 20).

Emergency services were called shortly after 10.30am to reports of a collision on the roundabout under the A13 flyover.

Emergency response

The London Ambulance Service attended alongside firefighters and treated one man at the scene before taking him to hospital. His condition is not yet known.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said:

“We were called at 10.30am today (20 August) to reports of a road traffic collision at a roundabout on the A1306 and the A13, Dagenham.
We sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer to the scene. We treated one patient and took him to hospital.”

The London Fire Brigade also confirmed its crews attended.

A spokesperson said:

“We were called at 10.37am today to a report of a road traffic collision near the A13 in Dagenham. Firefighters attended and discovered a car and a van were involved.
No one was trapped and firefighters assisted emergency service colleagues in making the scene safe. One fire engine from Barking Fire Station attended the scene.”

Police contacted

The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for further details, including whether any arrests have been made.

Traffic in the area was temporarily disrupted while emergency crews dealt with the incident.
