George Payne-Woodham, 21, has been locked up for 16 years after a young victim bravely exposed years of horrific abuse. The former england/gillingham/”>Gillingham resident was convicted of multiple child sex offences at Maidstone Crown Court.
Quick Arrest After Victim Speaks Out
On 26 September 2024, a child confided in a school worker about sustained sexual abuse. Kent Police launched an immediate investigation, arresting Payne-Woodham the very same day. He was charged just two days later.
Convicted of Rape and Sexual Assault of a Child
Despite pleading not guilty, Payne-Woodham was found guilty by a jury on all counts, including child rape, inciting a child to sexual activity, and sexual assault.
Harsh Sentence and Lifelong Restrictions
Sentenced on 12 September 2025, Payne-Woodham must serve at least two-thirds of his 16-year term before parole. After release, he faces an additional four years on licence under an extended sentence.
He is also subject to indefinite sex offender notification and a 25-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, ensuring he remains under strict control.
