Tribute: Sam Evans, 28, Remembered as Loyal, Hardworking, and Full of Heart

The family of Sam Evans, a beloved son, brother, and friend, has announced his tragic passing at the age of 28.

Sam, who worked as a Waste Refuse Operator in Torbay, died suddenly on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, while carrying out the job he loved. His family described him as a man of few words, but one with an enormous heart — someone who was deeply devoted to his loved ones and dedicated to his work.

In a heartfelt message, Sam’s uncle Trevor Parsons, speaking on behalf of his sister Trudie Parsons (Sam’s mother), said:

“We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved Sam was taken from us far too soon. He was a much-loved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, and fiancé. Sam was a friend to all who met him, and he will be sorely missed by family and friends.

He was the most loyal and hardworking individual you could hope to meet. Family meant everything to Sam, and the world is a sadder place without him.”

The family extended their deepest gratitude to the emergency personnel and members of the public who cared for Sam in his final moments, expressing that they will be “forever grateful.”


Funeral Arrangements

Sam Evans’ funeral will take place at Torbay Crematorium on Friday, 27 June 2025, at 4:30pm. All who knew Sam or wish to pay their respects are warmly invited to attend.

  • Flowers: Family flowers only.
  • Donations: Those wishing to make a gesture in Sam’s memory are encouraged to donate to either the NSPCC or the Devon Air Ambulance, via the funeral directors, Hallett and Perrin.
