Kent Police was called to an address in Linden Road at 8.17am on Friday 19 July 2024 following a report that a man had been assaulted.
Emergency services attended and the man was flown to a London hospital, where he remains receiving treatment for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
Enquiries at the scene led to a man who is known to the victim being arrested near Sea Road later the same day.
Darren Duncombe, 49, of Westgate Bay Avenue, Westgate-on-Sea, has since been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He remains in custody and is due to appear before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday 22 July.
