Police have arrested a man in South Grove, Walthamstow, this evening following reports of a suspected firearm. Officers attended the scene and detained the individual, who has since been taken into custody.

Contrary to initial reports suggesting a stabbing, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the incident did not involve a knife. Instead, it was related to the possession of a suspected firearm.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: “We can confirm that a man was arrested at South Grove, Walthamstow, this evening on suspicion of possessing a firearm. He has been taken into custody for questioning.”

There are no further details at this time, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities have urged anyone with information to contact the police.
