A man has been charged following a suspected arson attack at a business premises on Rochester High Street.

The incident took place between 5am and 5.25am on Tuesday, 26 August 2025, when a fire is reported to have started in a floral display at the shop entrance. The flames spread to the door frame and signage before being extinguished.

Arrest and Charge

Following an investigation, a suspect was arrested on Thursday, 28 August.

Zygimantas Dranseika, 31, a Lithuanian national of no fixed address, has since been charged with arson.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 29 August.
