Emergency services are responding to a basement fire at Putera Puteri Restaurant on Queensway in Bayswater, prompting multiple road closures and a significant fire brigade presence in the area.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters from stations including Paddington, North Kensington, and Kensington were dispatched to the scene after the London Fire Brigade received reports of the blaze at 3.39pm this afternoon.
The fire is currently contained to the basement of the premises, but crews are working hard to prevent further spread and assess the building’s structural safety.
Road Closures
Due to the incident, several roads in the area have been closed to traffic:
- A4206 between Westbourne Grove and Bishop’s Bridge
- Queensway between the junctions of Porchester Road and Inverness Terrace
Motorists and members of the public are advised to avoid the area and expect delays while emergency services continue to deal with the incident.
Cause Unknown
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and investigations will begin once the scene is fully secured and safe for assessment.
