A 24-year-old man has been charged with six offences following a stabbing incident on the outskirts of Oswestry, West Mercia Police have confirmed.

Robert North, from Weston Close in Morda, near Oswestry, faces charges after an incident at a property on Weston Close on Friday, July 19. Officers were called to the scene around 9 p.m., where they found a 43-year-old man with apparent stab wounds.

The victim was taken to Royal Stoke Hospital with serious injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

In connection with the incident, North has been charged with:

  • Two counts of wounding with intent
  • Two counts of possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place
  • Two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm

North was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. Two other men were also arrested: a 37-year-old on suspicion of owning an offensive weapon and obstructing police, and a 53-year-old on suspicion of criminal damage.

North is set to appear in Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 22.
