In a shocking incident that occurred on Thursday 20 July 2023 in Failsworth, Oldham, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is appealing for information after a person was assaulted by an unknown man in their own home.
The distressing incident unfolded at approximately 17.45 when an unsuspecting individual was opening the door to their residence. Suddenly, a man swiftly approached from behind, forcefully gaining entry and proceeded to subdue the victim. Armed with an axe, the assailant threatened the resident and demanded money, causing immense fear and distress.
During the terrifying ordeal, the intruder proceeded to search the premises, ransacking personal belongings. However, fortunately, the victim escaped any serious physical harm.
GMP is now reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying and locating the individual pictured, as he is believed to hold crucial information that could aid in progressing the investigation. Authorities are urging anyone who recognises the man or possesses any relevant information to come forward and cooperate with the ongoing inquiry.
