A man has been arrested after a number of people were attacked by a dog in Hammersmith.

Police were called at about 11:15am on Saturday, 1 July to reports that several people had been injured in a cemetery on Field Road, W6.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service.

The officers were able to locate the dog and it was safely restrained before being seized. Enquiries remain ongoing to establish its breed.

Four people self-presented at the hospital with puncture wounds. Their conditions were assessed as not life-threatening.

A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog. He was taken into custody at a west London police station.

Detectives from the Central West Command Unit are investigating.
