A man has been taken to hospital after being struck by a train at Holborn Underground station in central London on Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 9.55am on April 21, following reports of a person on the tracks at the busy Kingsway-based station.

London Ambulance Service confirmed that multiple units were dispatched, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, and a member of the Hazardous Area Response Team. London’s Air Ambulance was also sent to the scene.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:

“We treated a man at the scene and took him by road to a major trauma centre.”

British Transport Police confirmed officers were alerted shortly after 10am and attended alongside paramedics.

“Paramedics also attended, and a person was taken to hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening,” a spokesperson said.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”

The man’s condition has since been assessed and his injuries are reported to be non-life threatening.

The incident caused temporary delays on the London Underground network, although full service was later restored.

For those affected by the incident or in need of emotional support, the Samaritans charity can be reached 24/7 by calling 116 123 for a confidential conversation.

Transport for London has not issued a further update, but commuters are advised to check live service information for any residual disruption.
