A police cordon remains in place outside Eastbrook Primary School in Dagenham this evening with the area around a bus stop sealed off as part of an active crime scene.
A single police car is stationed on Dagenham Road, where crime scene tape has closed off the bus stop directly outside the school entrance.
The Metropolitan Police are understood to be awaiting a full forensic examination of the scene.
Detectives have spent the evening download CCTV frmo the School in attempt to find clues in progressing the investigation
A nearby shop owner told reporters that officers had come into his store overnight requesting access to CCTV footage, following what he believed was an attack that took place late on Saturday evening.
No official details of the incident have yet been confirmed, and it is not clear whether anyone was injured.
