A tragic shooting incident in Chicago Lawn has claimed the life of a man and left three others injured. The incident occurred on Friday night in the 6300 block of South Artesian Avenue. The victims, all standing on a sidewalk, were targeted when an individual inside a black Dodge Charger pulled up and opened fire, according to the Chicago police.
A 23-year-old man was shot in the buttocks and was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Despite medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries. Two other men, aged 24 and 27, sustained gunshot wounds to their legs and were transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and Holy Cross Hospital, respectively. Thankfully, they were listed in good condition. Additionally, a 58-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to his hip and back but remained in good condition after being taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center.
At present, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Area One detectives have taken charge of the investigation as they work diligently to gather evidence and identify the responsible parties.
