In the early hours of Friday morning, emergency services were called to Grande Parade in Brighton after what we understand was due reports of a strong smell of ammonia in a residential property. The incident occurred shortly after midnight,
Police officers, and fire crews from multiple stations, including Brighton, Roedean, and Hove, were dispatched to an incident and paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service quickly arrived at the scene. Due to the seriousness of the situation, Sussex Police implemented a road closure as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety and allow emergency services to operate without obstruction.
The road remained closed for approximately an hour while the area was secured and made safe. During this time, local traffic was diverted to alternative routes.
The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
