A man in his 20s has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in broad daylight on Roman Road in Bethnal Green today (September 27). The incident occurred around 4:15 pm at the junction with Bonner Street, prompting a swift response from police and emergency services.
The Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene and found the man suffering from stab injuries. He was immediately transported to the hospital, where his condition remains under assessment. No arrests have been made so far, and the assailant is still at large.
A crime scene has been established, with police guarding the cordoned-off area while passersby watched on. A video shared on X (formerly Twitter) shows officers standing by the cordon as investigations continue.
A spokesperson from the Met Police said: “Police were called at 4:15 pm to Roman Road, junction with Bonner Street, to reports of a stabbing. Officers responded and found a man, aged in his 20s, with stab injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he remains. We await an assessment of his condition. There have been no arrests at this stage. A crime scene is in place, and enquiries are ongoing.
The road was temporarily closed, but traffic reports suggest it has since reopened. The police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as the investigation progresses.
