The family of Rodgers Cena, 19, is in distress after their son mysteriously disappeared on his way to a local shop in Peckham on Wednesday, January 22, leaving loved ones frantic and struggling to sleep. With little explanation for his sudden disappearance, the family is calling for help after Rodgers’ phone was discovered 17 miles away in Waltham Cross, an area completely unfamiliar to him.
Rodgers had been asked by his parents to pick up a few items for a homemade pizza night. His father, Eduart Cena, explained that after a while without hearing from him, the family grew increasingly concerned. They tried calling Rodgers repeatedly, but his phone went unanswered, and soon, the messages were no longer going through.
“After a while, we started to get really worried,” Eduart said. “I checked every shop in Peckham, even the CCTV in Lidl where he was supposed to shop, and he was never there. He’s never done anything like this before.”
Rodgers, who is described as “vulnerable” and reserved, had only recently moved to Peckham with his family, but his parents noted that he is not one to frequently go out or spend time away from home. Family friend Melissa Corps added, “It’s just very out of character. He doesn’t really leave the house, and he’s never spent the night away. For him to be missing for two nights now is terrifying.”
Adding to the mystery, Rodgers’ phone was later tracked to an area near the M25 in Waltham Cross, an area that his family insists he has no ties to. Further tracking indicated Rodgers was later in the Liverpool Street area, further confounding the family’s search. Eduart expressed his confusion, saying, “He stays at home all the time, playing games. He didn’t like going out. It’s so strange that he would end up in all these different places.”
Rodgers was last seen wearing a dark puffer coat, a grey hoodie, and dark joggers.
The family is now pleading for any information that could help bring Rodgers home. “I just want to hear from him and know that he’s okay,” his father said, his voice filled with concern. “We haven’t been able to sleep at all. We just want him to come home.”
The Metropolitan Police have been contacted regarding the disappearance. Anyone with any information, or who believes they may have seen Rodgers Cena, is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting CAD 3745/23jan25.
The family remains hopeful but continues to grow more worried with each passing hour.
