A 19-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences, including vehicle theft, following swift action by Kent Police.
Stolen Fiat 500 Tracked and Recovered
Officers were alerted to a suspicious Fiat 500 in the Station Road area of Northfleet at around 11 AM on Saturday, February 8.
Following enquiries, police identified the car had been reported stolen from Bexley. The vehicle was then tracked down to Rose Street, Northfleet, where officers successfully recovered it.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
The next day, on Sunday, February 9, Ben Gardiner, of Wallis Park, Northfleet, was arrested in connection with the stolen vehicle.
He has since been charged with:
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Theft from a shop (in a separate incident)
- Handling a stolen car
Court Appearance and Remand
Gardiner appeared before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 10, where he was remanded in custody. He is now set to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Monday, March 10.
Police have not released further details but confirmed that investigations remain ongoing.
