A desperate search is underway for 14-year-old Millie, who went missing from Worthing, Sussex, amid growing concerns from police and her family that she may have been abducted.
Sussex Police have now upgraded her case to high-risk status, stating they are treating the disappearance as a potential abduction. Officers are expected to release an official statement soon.
Family’s Heartbreaking Plea
Millie’s mother issued a public plea on social media, describing her distress and fearing for her daughter’s safety.
“Millie would never do this to us. She loves her home comforts too much, and we are worried they have taken her phone. Everything is really happy at home—this is not like her at all.
Millie was last seen at a park near her home on the evening of Saturday, February 15. She had been two minutes away from home and was expected to return within five minutes. However, she suddenly turned off her phone location, blocked her family and friends, and disappeared.
Last Known Movements
A voice note sent at midnight suggested Millie was on a train to East Croydon with two older boys, identified as Corey and Tyler, along with another girl. The message stated they had been drinking and were heading to a party, intending to stay in a hotel.
Her mother, who is frantic with worry, added:
“Millie is not in a ditch, but I definitely don’t feel she is safe! I’m just waiting and hoping she comes home safe to me.”
She also pleaded directly to her daughter:
“Millie Moo, you are not in any trouble. Please just come home to me.”
Police Investigation Underway
Sussex Police confirmed they are actively searching for Millie and are following multiple leads.
Authorities are urging anyone who has seen Millie or has information about her whereabouts to immediately call 999, quoting serial 229 of 15/02.
Police have also asked for anyone who may have spotted Millie with the two older males in the Croydon area to come forward.
