A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault near Archway Station, which left a young man in critical condition.

Police were called at 22:28hrs on Saturday, February 15, after a man in his 20s was admitted to hospital with stab wounds. Investigators determined that the attack occurred in Navigator Square, N19, close to Archway Station.

The victim remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Ongoing Investigation

A crime scene remains in place, with forensic teams conducting investigations in Navigator Square. Officers arrested a 22-year-old suspect on Sunday, February 16, and he remains in police custody.

Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Inspector Anna Deighton, of Central North Local Investigations, said:
“Our officers worked quickly to establish where this assault occurred, putting a cordon in place and carrying out inquiries in the area. Yesterday evening, a man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and he remains in custody.

“Residents and visitors to the area will have noticed an increased police presence whilst this investigation remains ongoing. We have designated officers on reassurance patrols to answer any questions the public may have.”

“I encourage anyone who has information but may not have contacted police yet to get in touch and assist with this investigation.”
