Emergency services rushed to the scene of a significant fire on Kennedy Road, Barking early on Friday morning after reports of a building blaze.

There are four fire engines that have been deployed to tackle the incident, with a 32-metre turntable ladder (TL) requested to assist firefighters on the scene after the blaze beoke out around 8.30am.

The fire has led to a full closure of Kennedy Road at the junction with Movers Lane, causing major disruption in the surrounding area. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area while emergency services continue their operations.

Crews are working hard to bring the fire under control. A turntable ladder was deployed to assist with operations, and the road remains blocked for safety reasons.”
