A shocking day of violence unfolded in Plumstead on Friday as a man was stabbed outside a mosque and emergency services rushed to a separate, unrelated incident just minutes away.
The Metropolitan Police were called to reports of a stabbing outside the Greenwich Islamic Centre on Plumstead Road at around 1pm. Officers, along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, arrived at the scene and found a man in his 30s with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition remains unknown.
Two men — one in his 20s and another in his 30s — were arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH). Both remain in police custody as investigations continue.

Separate Incident on Plumstead High Street
Shortly after, emergency services were also seen responding to another incident on Plumstead High Street — just a four-minute drive from the earlier stabbing. A bus stop was cordoned off, and multiple emergency vehicles, including an ambulance, a police van, and a fire engine, were at the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing a woman receiving CPR from paramedics. The nature and condition of the woman have not yet been confirmed by authorities.
Police have stated that the two incidents are not linked.
Community in Shock
The incidents have left local residents shaken. The Greenwich Islamic Centre is a central part of the community, and the broad daylight stabbing has raised concerns about safety in the area.
No further details about the victims or suspects have been released, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
