A joint investigation is underway following a fatal house fire that broke out in the early hours of Monday morning on Nithdale Road in Plumstead, South East London.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 1am, responding to reports of a blaze at a terraced property in the residential neighbourhood.

Despite the swift arrival of London Fire Brigade crews and paramedics, one person was tragically confirmed dead at the scene.
